You could benefit from Invisalign if you have dental problems such as:

  • Crooked teeth

  • Crowded teeth

  • Gap between teeth

  • An open bite

  • A crossbite

  • An overbite

  • An underbite

Here are the answers to nine common Invisalign questions:

  1. Is Invisalign aligner better than traditional braces? The treatment period for Invisalign is shorter than traditional braces. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign doesn’t have sharp metal components that could poke the inside of your mouth.

  2. What are Invisalign aligners made of? Invisalign braces are made from a flexible biocompatible plastic called SmartTrack ®.

  3. Can both adults and kids use Invisalign? Invisalign is recommended for everyone although children might require additional adult guidance.

  4. How does Invisalign work? Our dentist first scans your bite for irregularities and then creates a treatment plan. The aligners straighten your teeth by applying sufficient pressure at the targeted areas to adjust their position.

  5. How long does Invisalign take to straighten teeth? The time required for treatment depends upon the severity of your dental problem. You might need to use Invisalign aligners for six months to 18 months depending on your condition. Wear the aligners for 20 - 22 hours a day and come visit us in every four to six weeks for a checkup.

  6. Can I switch from braces to Invisalign? It is possible but Invisalign is more effective when used from the beginning of the treatment.

  7. How can I clean Invisalign? Clean Invisalign aligners every day with a retainer cleaning solution and brush your teeth after every meal. They must be removed before eating or smoking as food residues and tobacco smoke can lead to discolouration.

  8. How do I sanitize Invisalign? You should sanitize your aligners only with a cleaning solution recommended by your dentist. Avoid hot water as this can damage or distort the plastic aligners.

  9. Whatis Invisalign provider level? Invisalign recognizes certain dental providers based on the number of cases they’ve treated. Dr. Deshpande is one of the top providers of Invisalign in Mississauga area with gold plus status.
